Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences."

But what, exactly, are these supposed consequences, and who has been suffering them?

In fact, those who receive abortions overwhelminglyexperience reliefrather than regret (more on this later).

This draft opinion as with most anti-choice arguments is about control.

Removing the option to have one is where we get into emotional harm.

“Relief, as we anticipated, was the most common emotion expressed,” says Dr. Rocca.

Pretending to care about the mental health of those who seek abortions is a false flag.

However, Dr. Rocca says these mental health outcomes subsided in the long-term for this group, too.

[Those] who were denied abortions were two to three times more likely to be living in poverty.

They suffered more physical health side effects," specifies Dr. Rocca.

“Abortion is a very safe procedure, and giving birth can be dangerous.

“Relief, as we anticipated, was the most common emotion expressed [after an abortion].”

Courtney Cohen, LMHC, a psychotherapist atClarity Therapy NYCin New York City, agrees.

And without the ability to choose abortion, it can be that much harder to leave a partner.

“Having a background in working with domestic violence, forced pregnancy is a huge issue.

“Because this is abuse.

It is about power and control; it is about the removal of autonomy.

I also think its important to think about the disparities and who may be impacted the most severely.”

“Forced parenthood only leads to continued cycles of trauma, as well as intergenerational trauma.”

So what can we do to support one another and begin chipping away at the feelings of helplessness?

Removing the right to choose isn’t a protective measure for those who can become pregnant.

Rather, it is an attack on their mental health.

And how does one do that if their choices are taken away?

“The decision to have an abortion is highly personal, and can bring up many complex emotions.

“In this case, [the] right to choose for themselves is being removed.
