So imagine my confusion and surprise when a makeup collaboration betweenWinky LuxandApplebee’smade its way to my desk.
Get Me Hot Buffalo is a bright and opaque coral similar to the hue of the tasty sauce.

Be My Honey Pepper is a gold with lots of shimmer (self-explanatory).
The last of the bunch is Honey BBQ-T, which is a burgundy reminiscent of traditional barbeque sauce.
Thelip glosseswere designed to resemble the sauces not just in color but also in scent.

The moment you twist open a gloss tube, you’re hit with its pungent aroma.
And I have to be honest; these scents are horrendous.
I initially thought the golden gloss smelled like barbecue chips.

Honey BBQ-T’s scent was the closest to the sauce it was imitating.
Lastly, Get Me Hot Buffalo smelled like something but surely not buffalo sauce.
Thankfully, the admittedly off-putting fragrances did not take away from how the glosses felt on my lips.
The formula is pigmented enough that you don’t have to endlessly swipe it on for color payoff.
Honey BBQ-T left a light sheen of plum pigment on my lips.
Also, I do love the four shades Winky Lux and Applebee’s chose for this launch.
As for the scents, I’m not as much of a fan.
