A few years ago, Joann Zehenni decided to get intoskin care.

Like many high school students since the dawn of time, she was dealing with acne and sensitive skin.

“I’d watch some YouTube videos of celebrities showing their skin-care lines, or skin-care tips and tricks.

But then I couldn’t really use very much of those products, unfortunately.”

That’s because Zehenni, who is 17, has lived with borderlinelupusfor most of her life.

Zehenni’s sensitive skin kept her from enjoying most of the skin-care products she tried.

“I just didn’t have any confidence or comfort in my skin,” Zehenni says.

After that, Zehenni went on a run.

She brought the idea up to her mother, who asked her “Why not start now?

Why wait until you’re maybe 25 or 30?”

“She would make green tea face masks, especially strawberries, honey, Greek yogurt.

She loves Greek yogurt.

So for me, thinking about that, I wanted fruits and vegetables in my products.”

Months after launching Gemini, Zehenni metNyakio Grieco, who cofounded the e-commerce siteThirteenlune.

Zehenni dedicated each product to a family member.

All of the products have a luxurious, goop-y texture to them, which gives off that at-home-spa vibe.
