Milan certainly thought so.
The 27-year-old has been modeling for more than eight years and is no stranger to discrimination on set.

This fashion week, Milan was booked and busy and says, I let my guard down.
She didnt bring her own makeup bag on set to model a designers dresses for a campaign.
(Milan declined to share the brand she was working for.)
And she only had two colors.
When I asked if she had seen my picture already, she said Yes, I did."
I had to take off the makeup, redo everything, she says.
I think I ended up getting emotional because I had to go to the store.
It was just like, Am I going to get paid for being the makeup artist as well?
I also came with my hair done, you know what I mean?
The brand was apologetic and paid her for the unexpected overtime.

She sees some positives, such as fashion brands hiring more well-rounded makeup artists.
This goes for hair too.
ModelTaylor Tompkinshasnt experienced much makeup-related discrimination.
Because I never know if they’re going to have the right tools for my hair.

Milan says shes going to continue showing all the sides of the industry, the good and the bad.
