Allure: What’s the best beauty tip youve ever received?

I discovered that you have to wait [for products to absorb].

For example, I apply my cream and wait for a few minutes.

I put on sunblock and wait a few minutes.

I put on a primer and wait a few minutes.

Before, I would put on everything without waiting and it would look bad with the foundation on.

That’s some great advice that I’ve been given and that I follow.

Do you think there’s a link between fashion, makeup, and music?

Every time I’m doing an album, I’m always coming up with a new concept.

I like to create different eras in my career.

WithK23, I wanted to do something completely different.

I wanted to work with black colors and a super dark vibe.

It’s the work of a lot of people and our efforts to make those concepts a reality.

How would you describe the era you’re in now?

It’s like an awakening of this feminine side of Kenia that was hidden for a long time.

It’s been very healing.

KO:The truth is I don’t read them…

There were years in my career when everything around me was hate with the exception of my fans.

I’m a stronger person now.

I understand that’s how the Internet is.

Allure: Through your platform and your music, you’ve always been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

Why is it important for you to support them?

I can make people hear that message.

As an ally, the rainbow flag is one I love and support.

I stand with them, and I’ll also do everything I can to defend them.

Allure: What are your thoughts on your first Latin Grammy nomination?

KO:It’s been a dream come true!

I’m very proud of myself and my team for our hard work.

Allure: How will you feel if you win?

KO:If I’m being honest, I’m not going with the expectation of winning.

I’m thinking more about that because obviously to be nominated is winning for me.

I’ve won in life.

Nobody can tell me anything else.

If I win, how cool that would be.

I will party with my label and my team.

Even if we don’t win, we’ll be behaving badly.

[laughs]

Hopefully the Latin Recording Academy gives me the opportunity to have a Grammy.

That would be incredible.

If that doesn’t happen, it’s okay.

I’m still going to enjoy my time in Seville to the max.
