The FDA has previously claimed lash growth products with isopropyl cloprostenate need to be classified as drugs and regulated.
In 2011, theFDA sent a warning letterto a company using the ingredient for lash and eyebrow products.
The letter noted that the products were essentially “unapproved new drugs.”
