I, exhausted from back-to-back revelries celebrating the season, had finally made it to Grand Kadooment Day.

It was 2:15 a.m. on the first Monday in August when it’s traditionally held.

Of course, I did.

Tropical parrot colors primary red, blue, and yellow were the dominant hues in my beat.

A fewgraphic linesbelow my inner brow bone completed the look.

The eye makeup was the focus, but the rest of my face also had to be on point.

Setting sprayis also a must.

“Glycerin can be pretty tacky and perhaps may help makeup grip.”

Then, my makeup artist grabbed a bottle ofPPI Blue Marble Selr Spray.

This setting spray is one that folks like to use for theatrical or special-effects makeup a.k.a.

looks that are supposed tolast.

Of course, I was sweating bullets especially the times I had to hop into a port-a-potty.

Those stalls don’t exactly have stellar ventilation.It was midday when I realized I’dforgotten to put on sunscreen.

I spritzed a bit of sunscreen mist on my face and applied some to my chest and shoulders.

It was too late.

The sun had already handed down its cruel judgment on me.

My makeup around 9 p.m. My forehead makeup had long since wiped off, giving way to a fresh sunburn.

And it was still kinda there!
