The Dallas-based creator has been making beauty-related posts on her social media accounts since 2018.
“My therapist urged me to find an outlet to share things that spark joy and create community.”
So, she leaned into it.
“My mother is a nurse and wears scrubs throughout the week.
“To me, perfumes were an indication that something worth celebrating was on the horizon.”
These days, she has much to celebrate.

Still, Monet is barreling through, clearing the way to make the fragrance world accessible to all.
We connected with the wellness professional and social media star about her ongoing fragrance journey.
Allure: You have been beauty blogging for some time.

What made you focus more on fragrance on your platforms?
Sharing my daily skin-care and beauty routine was something that became meaningful for me while I was in therapy.

What should folks keep in mind when choosing one to suit their style and personality?
Most brands additionally offer samples or discovery sets with mini sizes of their best-selling fragrances as well.
For others, lighter fragrances, mists, orperfume oilsare suitable for their needs.
I also definitely suggest taking into consideration your work environment (school, office, hospital, etc.)
and your personal style.

FM:I created Exalte thinking about the woman looking for asignature scent.
Allure:#BlackGirlLuxuryis huge right now, especially in the beauty space.
FM:The #BlackGirlLuxury movement definitely has its pros and cons.
It is a reminder that the life of your dreams is a tangible thing you might strive for.
Alternatively, #BlackGirlLuxury is criticized for promoting hyper-consumerism, unrealistic expectations, and unhealthy spending habits.
FM:Daily rituals are a huge reason behind the success of the “self-care” movement.
The idea is that through skin care, exercise, fragrance, etc.
you’re tapping into things that you could practice routinely to show up for yourself.
Allure:Speaking of, how do you balance being a therapist and a successful content creator?
What does your day typically look like?
My mornings start around 6 a.m. with meditation or a workout.
I enjoy this quiet time to plan out my day.
Allure: How has social media, especially TikTok, helped inform your own brand/business?
How does your online community help you?
Allure:What is your advice for aspiring perfume influencers?
FM:I definitely recommend creating different types of videos to find a style that works best for you.
Allure:Accessibility has been an issue in the scent business, although it feels like slowly changing.
As a Black creator, what was the process of creating your fragrance like?
Why is diversifying the industry so important now?
There is no secret that creating a luxury fragrance is expensive.
Black creators and perfumers are underrepresented in this space due to the lack of accessibility to these same things.
Diversifying the industry is important.

My favorite body cream at the moment is fromFenty Skin.
It’s so rich and creamy and leaves my skin feeling well-moisturized and soft.
FM:I hope to continue to see indie brands breaking out and gaining visibility to wider audiences.
