(The last launch,Swipe Hydrating Serum Concealer, is one of my most-used products.)

That leads us to Tower 28’s latest: LipSoftie.

So, did LipSoftie earn theAllureseal of approval?

Bare lips.

Let’s dig into it.

You’ll recognize shea butter and jojoba oil among those.

Jojoba oil is rich in fatty acid, draws moisture in, and serves as an emollient.

It’s also super lightweight in texture.

One of the main ingredients I wasn’t as familiar with was lysine.

“Lysine is an amino acid that the human body cannot create,” says Lam-Phaure.

What else is noteworthy?

“Phytosterols are an interesting ingredient,” Lam-Phaure notes.

(For the clear and Watermelon Kiwi shades, I could go sans mirror.)

On the opposite spectrum, my coworker Ang prefers to use LipSoftie as a topper.

(More on that later.)

My First Impression

I’m a lip girl.

Bare lips.

I feel naked without some color on my lips.

But with Lip Softie, it’s hard to argue that lip balms sacrifice pigment.

(Perhaps something to do with the scents albeit artificial of LiquidLipSmackers?Lancome Juicy Tubes?)

True to its name, LipSoftie is seriously hydrating.

The formula itself is smooth without feeling heavy or sticky (my biggest pet peeve for balms).

That being said, I can’t say the moisture is comparable to that of a lip mask.

No matter how you spin it, balms are much thinner and more slippery in texture.
