“Anotha” being a new celebrity beauty line.

This time, by singer-songwriterJohn Legend.

I will admit: I did not want to conduct this interview.

is not to let that sway how I feel about a celebrity’s offering.

The “celebrity” of it all shouldn’t affect the brand positivelyornegatively.

Still, my first question for Legend was: Why?

Has he ever struggled with this skin?

“I think we all do,” he says, looking like a walking billboard for clear skin.

“Sometimes it’s just a few blemishes and you’re just like, ‘Fuck, why?’

Are the ingredients in Loved01’s formulations proven to bebetterfor deep skin tones?

I consulted Los Angeles-based cosmetic chemistJavon Fordand Orange County-based cosmetic chemist and licensed estheticianEsther Olu.

Gutierrez felt the brand catered to her skin tone more than others she’s tried.

Edwards shared that she was looking for a more sensorial experience in using the products.

Edwards and her partner Tariq Al-Sabir both tested Loved01’s Face + Body Oil.

Olu reiterated this in her observation of the ingredient lists.

“Did they do clinical testing or consumer perception studies on darker skin tones?

Most of the time, the answer is no.”

Loved01 will be available on February 1st atLoved01.comand in-stores at CVS.
